Offbeat Ensemble

Phibsborough’s community string orchestra will be joined by musicians drawn from the area’s vibrant local traditional Irish music scene, for an hour of contemporary, classical and trad music.

The ensemble was founded in 2013 by string players and teachers Ciara Cavanagh and Nathan Sherman, open to all adult learners, and played its first concert that year in King’s Inns. Since then, it has performed in an array of amazing venues.

Katie Kim

Mood is central to the expansive musical landscape throughout Katie Kim’s releases: darkened corners, icy atmospheres and hypnotic knife-edge soundscapes. Cinematic in scope and tectonic in delivery, many have used her scores in documentaries, film and TV. With over six albums and an impressive collective of collaborators, she performs at Phizzfest with her band, drummer  Ellie Myler  (Percolator, Lankum) and Irish Psychedelic-Folk musician Elaine Malone.
