PHIZZFEST COMMUNITY AND FAMILY DAY

Join us stage-side for an entertainment-packed afternoon of Phizzfest fun at the canal! Featuring great musical acts, a magician, children’s toys, kayaking and other water-based activities.

Lots of information from the Royal Canal Amenity Group and, not forgetting the annual festival highlight – the Duck Race.

Bring all the family and why not bring a picnic too!

Phizzfest Annual Duck Race

Prizes galore in this tension-filled festival favourite!

Keep an eye out for our yellow barrow selling ducks at pop-up locations in Phibsborough in the week before and on the canal during the Community and Family Day.

The race itself will take place west of the 6th lock.

Steve Flynn, Solo Artist

American-born, Ireland-based guitarist Steven Flynn blends blues, country and folk using soulful open tunings.

The Musical Suspects

The Musical Suspects, under conductor Niamh McDonough, have been singing both traditional and modern repertoire in close harmony for many years.

They perform regularly in Dublin in the John Field Room and St Ann’s, Dawson Street.

Try something new, outdoors and fun – kayaking with Canoeing Ireland’s sit-on-top kayaks.

Safety equipment provided and instructors on site.

30-minute rides.

Strictly for ages 8 years +

The Finglas Concert & Marching Band

The festival regulars bring their energy and enthusiasm back to Phizzfest to share their varied repertoire, from big band hits to modern‑day pop.

Sure to delight audiences young and old.

Magician Quentin Reynolds

Quentin Reynolds, Member of the Magic Circle, will delight and astound children and adults alike with his repertoire of tricks, wheezes and surprises.

Come for the craic and the amazement.

Phizzfest Raft Race

The challenge is simple! Build your homemade raft, launch it into the canal and try to stay out of the water while racing your way to the finish line.

This fun event will have prizes for those who manage to stay dry, most inventive designs and most creative decoration!

Bring your own life jacket if you have one, otherwise we can supply. Capable swimmers only.

Entry forms must be filled out in advance of the race.

Join Drumology for a one‑hour interactive and fun drumming workshop using an African drum called the Djembe.

No experience needed — just bring your enthusiasm!

Connect and create powerful feel good rhythms together.

Boost your well-being and experience the joy of community through music in an uplifting outdoor session.

Maximum of 20 participants – aged 8 or over.

Te Waka Aumihi – Maori Choir

A Dublin‑based waiata group formed by New Zealanders living in Ireland.

Through song, they share the stories and spirit of Aotearoa, building community abroad while staying connected to the culture, language, and traditions of home.
